The Greek island of Schinoussa is a small and remote island that lies in the Aegean Sea. It is located to the south of the island of Naxos and is part of the Small Cyclades group of islands, along with Koufonissia, Donoussa and Iraklia. The island's terrain is made up of a wild landscape and isolated beaches which are perfect for visitors seeking privacy, peace and tranquillity. The island does not have a wide range of tourist facilities but what it does have seems to be sufficient for the visitors it receives.
The island is easily accessible from Naxos which makes it the perfect destination for a day trip. A popular site on the island is the Church of Panagia Akathi in Chora, which is the island's most important church, and is considered the protector of the island. It's architecture is of typical Cycladic design, painted blue and white, and stands in the middle of the village.
