Bandar Bentan Telani Guide

Bandar Bentan Telani Ferry Port

Just a few miles south of Singapore, on the largest island of the Riau archipelago that speckles the Java Sea, is the small port of Bandar Bentan Telani. Located along the northern coast of Bintan Island in Treasure Bay Resort, this relatively large port is surrounded by tall coconut palms and manicured gardens teeming with multi-coloured flowers. The port sits alone on a narrow stretch of land that juts into the azure waters of the Singapore Strait, 6-miles away from the nearest town of Lagoi further inland. It’s an area blessed with natural beauty including sweeping beaches that bathe in the tropical Indonesian heat. Only one road leads in and out of Bandar Bentan Telani port, a route that snakes west towards the Bintan Lagoon Resort and connects with the other roads that cover the island. Coaches and buses regularly stop outside the entrance to the terminal before shuttling passengers to the various hotels and retreats that litter the coastline. The terminal building itself is a colourful building with a host of facilities including a shopping hall, picnic area, cafes selling hot food and a private waiting lounge. Those driving to the port can make use of the car-park that offers spaces along the lane of incoming traffic. Currently just one service operates from the port. A Bintan Resort Ferries line leaves the port a number of times throughout the day, heading northwards to the modern city-state of Singapore.
