Belfast is Northern Ireland's principal passenger ferry port with more than a million ferry passengers passing through annually. Isle of Man ferries arrive and depart at Albert Quay while Stena Line services use the Victoria terminal. With numerous ferry services operating daily and over night, Belfast port provides an excellent gateway between Northern Ireland and England, Scotland and the Isle of Man. The port is easy to access from the city centre and is well connected by motorway to the rest of Northern Ireland.
Douglas ferry port is located near the southern end of Douglas on the Isle of Man. The Ferry Terminal which was built in 1965, to accommodate rising passenger numbers is located on the near side of Douglas port, closer to the promenade and provides the main hub for the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company car and passenger ferry connections with ports in the UK and Ireland. Douglas is the main port of the Isle of Man and features the most extensive facilities for both commercial and private ships. The port is also the only Manx port with dedicated passenger handling facilities for multiple types of ferry.
