Operated by DFDS Seaways on the Calais Dover route
The DFDS Seaways ferries can carry in excess of 1900 passengers, with ample space for passenger and freight vehicles. The state of the art vessels include a choice of bars, cafes and restaurants, as well as a shop for any last minute purchases or souvenir buying. Travellers of all ages will find plenty to keep them occupied whilst on board, with a designated kids area, video games section and plenty of areas to relax and take in the sea vistas.
Premium Lounge seating provides those seeking a more luxurious journey with the ideal setting. As well as private area seating you are treated to complimentary food and drinks, newspapers and have the option to kick back and watch some TV. From your comfortable chair you can enjoy beautiful sea views.
On board, you will find a self-service restaurant serving a range of delicious hot and cold dishes, freshly cooked throughout the day. Vegetarian alternatives and children's options are also available. If you would prefer something lighter, there are also plenty of cafes and bars where you can relax and admire the superb sea views.
You don’t have to just sit around whilst making your crossing, with DFDS you can indulge in some retail therapy and maybe treat yourself to a little something while on the move. The Sea Shop includes great deals on fragrances, skincare and cosmetics, as well as being stocked up on gifts, souvenirs, magazines, books and sweets. The kids can also enjoy the range of goods with plenty to choose from the toys and games selection. Don’t worry if you’ve forgotten to pack some of your much needed holiday essentials. You can find everything from phrase books, maps and guides to toiletries and adaptors.
Keeping the little ones can prove to be one of the greatest challenges when travelling abroad but this is made a lot easier with a dedicated soft play area. Here they can safely run around, burn some energy and enjoy the journey. Those youngsters who have outgrown the play area can pass the time in the arcade area, where they will find a number of video and racing games.
The C Class vessels all have lift access parking, passenger lifts so you can move freely between the decks and wheelchair accessible public toilet facilities.
Please Note: Whilst we have taken great care in making our C Class guide as accurate as possible, onboard facilities, services and entertainment may vary depending on the date and time of year that you travel, facilities mentioned may change without notification and ferry companies reserve the right to operate vessels other than those mentioned at time of booking without prior notification.

"Cheap and Reliable"
My first time ever using a ferry and DFDS were great. Ship arrived on-time and promptly allowed us to disembark when docked. Facilities on board were good. I didn't use the catering facilities but there was a restaurant and a snack bar on board. Lounges were excellent and toilets were well kept. Biggest selling point for me was the low price, great value for money. Would definitely sail DFDS again.

"A great ferry service "
We recently used this company to make a return journey between Dover and Calais. We encountered no problems, the facilities on board were all good, the ferry was clean, the ride was smooth, and the ferry was on time both ways.

"Short Break "
Crossing both ways were fine but I preferred the outward journey as it was a bigger vessel. Priority boarding and the lounge was good value including the complementary prosecco. All in all a good experience.

"Great way to travel to and from France"
Really worked well for my trip to France. Rolled on and off very quickly and easily both ways. Would def use again on my next trip. Channelling cars at Calais end after check-in was my only problem. With no one there to manage the “merge in turn” there was no way other drivers were going to let me though. Thanks to P&O ferries who let me through their lane so I could run back to the booth and check in faster that those who wouldn’t give way 😃

I was impressed by the whole organisation. Even if a crossing by train is faster this is nicer and cheaper.

"All OK "
We were pleased to be offered to sail one hour prior to our booked time. We were confused first if we already started sailing as no one announced it via the speaker. There was not a lot of possibilities where to lie down, my back would appreciate it. Otherwise all OK.

"No fuss travel"
If you wish to miss the chaos of family/ school holiday traffic then travel mid week as we did. With fewer passengers and priority boarding I can thoroughly recommend the experience on Direct Ferries.

"Easy travel"
After six weeks traveling I wanted flexibility booking a return to the UK. I would usually use the Eurotunnel but for same day travel they double their prices. So it was DFDS that gets my vote for sensible pricing. Very well organised embarking and disembarking. Very clean . Well done

"Generally pretty good"
The checking in process was smooth and staff were helpful and friendly. The ferry was basic but all we needed was there. I only gave three stars for cleanliness because my son came out the toilets saying they were gross and we had only just got in the ferry.
