Our 6 favourite Ibizan Beaches

The Ibizan coastline not only boasts bustling beach parties orchestrated by the world’s best DJ’s, but also hides numerous idyllic gems. Whether you’re looking for a short respite from that thumping base, a safe beach to swim and play or a romantic spot for a sunset cocktail, there is a beach for you on Ibiza. While there are more than 80 on the island, these are our favourite beaches.

If you’re seeking respite from the clubbing scene, then the beautifully remote cove named Cala Mastella, on the eastern tip, will do just the trick. Best of all, with a seabed compiled purely of stones, the water is crystal clear and ideal for snorkelling.

A must visit for families, the southwest coast’s Cala Tarida is one of the most striking resort beaches on the island, offering volleyball, a diving school and a lifeguard on duty at all times, allowing stress-free sun-soaking.

Ibizan sunsets are well renowned across the continent, and Cala Conta represents the best choice for drinking in the spectacular glowing dusk, with its golden sand and shallow waters. This natural spectacle can draw large crowds, so head down early.

Hidden beyond a wooden walkway through two cliffs, Sa Caleta is one of the island’s most picturesque secrets, with a red-cliff backdrop and perfect sangria-sampling surroundings.

Once you’ve recharged your batteries, be sure to dance the day and night away on the legendary Bora Bora, arguably the most famous stretch of sand on the island, attracting partygoers from around the world.

Last but not least, for the pearly white Cala Jondal, it’s best to save your cash rather than energy; a popular hangout for the affluent, it makes for a rather upmarket sunbathing session.

Book your beach holiday today and discover your favourite Ibizan escape; which one will you try?
