Fast! Stable! The “Flying Boat” of the Sea The jetfoil rides above the water, reaching speeds of 80 km/h even in 3.5 m waves. Its gas-turbine engine powers water jets that spray 150 tons of seawater per minute at high pressure, while underwater wings lift the hull above the sea—earning it the nickname “flying boat.” Smooth in rough seas Computer-controlled systems, like those in aircraft, eliminate pitching and rolling, keeping the ride stable at high speed. Safe The emergency stopping distance from 80 km/h is just 180 m, making it safer and more reliable than conventional ships.
