The coastal resort of Santa Teresa di Gallura is characterised by its very orderly town centre, with its regular roads which date back to its foundation in 1808 by the Piedmontese. Santa Teresa also boasts an important harbour, which stands in a deep fjord. Besides the quay reserved for the fishing boats, there is a series of quays for pleasure boats, as well as the berth for the ferries which run between Sardinia and Bonifacio.
