Hired a car in Northern Ireland to travel to the UK. We hadn't travelled on the ferry before. We're from Australia. It was quite easy. Lots of people directing us where to go and where to park our car. Once on board we just followed the crowd. Very well organised.

  • "Holyhead to Dublin "

Booked the trip early this year and due to weather conditions the sailing time was altered two days prior to the departure date which wasn’t a problem but then the times were changed again the day before which did cause some confusion on which sailing we were booked on. Taking my 80yr old father back to his home town didn’t want to be sitting round in a ferry dock for hours. We arrived for the ferry on the 3rd time change and boarding the ferry with no problems thank goodness. The staff were efficient and polite would definitely travel with them again.

  • "Lovely Ferry"

The ferry is lovely roomy and has great facilities for the trip. We enjoyed the sailing very mich and the only disadvantage to the trip was waiting for one hour in the car when trying to leave the ferry. Not sure why it happened this way and would have appreciated knowing why we couldn't get off.

  • "Fast and smooth"

We were told to arrive in port early due to congested traffic, so we did. We were left on the port in a huge queue for over an hour and a half with no explanation of why, in the baking hot sun. The ferry then left 40mins later than scheduled, again with no explanation of why. But the crossing was smooth and fast which was good, and the ferry was clean and comfortable. More spacious than the big ferry we had to get over to Dublin.

  • "Great when it runs"

The Dublin Swift crossing is fast and the loading / unloading are fast too thanks to the smaller size. The seats we used were comfortable and the facilities good. The deck area is small but welcome. However, our outward journey was cancelled due to bad weather leaving us very late at our holiday cottage. On the return it did run although delayed. Had it been cancelled the closest crossing time was fully booked so we would have had to sail at either 8am or 8pm rather than 1.50pm as booked causing considerable problems with our journey plans. The sea was running south to north across our path causing the vessel to rock side to side. We were fine but a number of passengers, especially on the south side of the ship, were finding the going hard to stomach.

  • "Crossing good, journey to Dublin Port a disgrace"

As usual the fast cat was cancelled and transferred to Ulyses at 8.05 which meant us cutting our holiday short by a day and booking an overnight in Dublin to catch the early morning ferry. Ferry crossing was excellent despite the Gale force 5/6 winds so no problem with that. Irish ferries advised us to travel early to the Dublin port but gave no indication of the absolute chaos getting there. 2.5 hours to travel 4 kms! Dublin Port travel is an absolute disgrace! No updates from Irish Ferries who must have been aware of thee chaos; wethought we had missed the ferry despite allowing 90 minutes but they delayed the ferry bu 30 mins so just got on. Communication not good enough and Dublin Port is a shambles

Made a recent trip from Dublin on Irish ferries and was impressed on the additional and larger facilities they had compared to competitors ships that I had also used on the same holiday. Will prioritise using Irish Ferries in the future now.

  • "Trip to Ireland "

We sailed out on the swift ferry and myself and my 3 kids loved this experience on a very smart and clean ferry. Unfortunately on the return trip the swift was cancelled and we had to make alternative arrangements and managed to sail on the 8.05 pn the Ulysses. This trip was still a good one but not as good as the swift. The way in which we were contacted to inform us of the cancellation was very good and early which allowed us to change our plans, getting up at 2.30, which was nice. The one issue was the length of time it took to exit the ferry port at Holyhead and get to the main road, 1 hour in total. Overall though still a very good experience.
