Fortunately, we now have three different ferries running between the coast of England and the Isle of Wight, with two different services running from Portsmouth Harbour to the Isle of Wight, and the third service running from Lymington.
As these ferries run from different ports and arrive at different ports, sailing times can vary, from roughly 22 minutes, to 45 minutes. To find the best and quickest route for your needs, check now with our route finder to make sure your journey runs as smoothly as possible.
Not only are there both car and foot passenger services available, you can take a high speed service from Portsmouth Harbour to Ryde Pier, which cuts your journey time in half.
As there are over 65 ferries available daily, running from two different locations, and with varying travel times, there is a wide variety of options for you to choose from when booking your ferry to the Isle of Wight, so book now with Direct Ferries to ensure you find the best route possible.
Due to the fact that ferries to the Isle of Wight run from different ports with varying run times, there is no specific price, especially as the prices will increase at peak times. "Great trip despite the weather "
Despite the stormy weather our ferry was on time and all the staff were really helpful and friendly. Only downside was the Wightlink website going down just when we needed to find out the impact of the storm on our journey.

"Day Trip to IOW"
Staying in Bucklers Hard, the obvious ferry to choose for an Isle of Wight day trip was the Lymington/Yarmouth ferry. The 10am/5pm timing was perfect for a day exploring the island, taking in a tour of Osborne house. Both crossings were excellent - comfortable with a good bar service and reasonable pricing.
